Prep Playoff Soccer Report: Brother Martin blanks West Monroe to earn matchup with St. Paul’s

LHSAA boys soccer playoff brackets

It was a good day for area soccer teams in the opening round of the state playoffs Friday.

In Division I, 16th-seeded Brother Martin shutout No. 17 West Monroe 3-0 at Farley Field.

Brandon Robbins put Brother Martin ahead with a first half goal before Bennett Burmaster and Dylan Nicolosi added goals for the Crusaders.

Brother Martin (16-6-6) advances to take on four-time defending state champion and top-seed St. Paul’s in the regional round. The Rebels end their season 12-10-6.

St. Paul’s has beaten Brother Martin twice, winning 3-0 and 4-0 during the regular season.
