Peters hits walkoff double to left Dodgers over Baby Cakes, 6-5
Oklahoma City – Jon Kemmer with a two out line-drive into the gap in right center field to score DJ Peters to give the Oklahoma City Dodgers a 6-5 walk-off win over the New Orleans Baby Cakes on Thursday night.
In the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs, Peters worked a two out walk before the game-winning double.
The ‘Cakes out-hit Oklahoma City 16-11 in the game with six players’ enjoying multi-hit performances. Magneuris Sierra led the attack with a 4-for-5 effort.
New Orleans starter Mike Kickham pitched three innings, allowing no runs on three hits. He was hit by a pitch attempting to bunt in the second inning but remained in the game for one more inning before leaving the contest.
Trailing 4-1 in the sixth inning, the Dodgers sent eight batters to the plate and scored four runs to take the lead off of reliever Jeff Kinley. The ‘Cakes answered with a run in the seventh to tie the game.
Kevin Quackebush pitched one inning for the win while Tyler Kinley suffered the defeat, pitching an inning and two thirds.
GAME NOTES – New Orleans stole three bases in the game, and the club has 87 stolen bases for the season. The ‘Cakes have stolen at least two bases in four of the last five games.
