Jaxson Hayes sentenced to probation, community service

New Orleans Pelicans center Jaxson Hayes was sentenced Tuesday to three years of probation Tuesday in Los Angeles.

The 22-year old pleaded no contest on Feb. 24 to misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment and resisting an officer stemming from an incident last summer which led to officers responding to a domestic violence call.

Hayes also must serve 450 hours of community service and attend a year of weekly domestic violence classes.

The eighth overall selection in the 2019 NBA Draft averaged 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds last season.
