New Orleans Pelicans guard Elfrid Payton will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair the fracture, the team announced Monday.

Payton, who suffered a fractured left fifth finger against the New York Knicks on November 16, is expected to miss approximately six weeks.

The New Orleans area native out of John Ehret and UL Lafayette has played in just six games this season for the Pelicans, leaving two of them due to injury.
