Pedal Valves edged by Troy ahead of Legion regional championship

Pedal Valves suffered its first loss in the American Legion Southeast Regional, falling Saturday to Troy (Ala.), 9-7.

Stephen Klein and Ron Franklin each had two hits and an RBI to pace a 12-hit attack for Pedal Valves.

Nick Lorio pitched one inning and took the loss, allowing three runs on two hits. Stephen Powers, Avery Schexnaydre and Patrick Boudreaux each followed Lorio to the mound.

Bryson Peavy homered for Troy while Logan Ross picked up the win, going five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits.

Troy will play Tupelo, MS at 8:30 a.m. Central time to the right to meet Pedal Valves at 10:30 a.m. for the Southeast Regional championship. The last team standing earns a spot in the American Legion World Series set for Aug. 15-20 at Shelby, NC.
