Peck’s Seafood rolls over Atalco in CCS Summer Prep League play

Northshore-based Peck’s Seafood scored eight runs in the top of the fourth inning to pull away from Lutcher-based Atalco 10-3 Wednesday at Lutcher.

Each team scored a run in the first inning before Peck’s Seafood (7-7) took a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the second inning. Atalco tied the game 2-2 with a run in the bottom of the third, setting the stage for the big inning for Peck’s Seafood which made it 10-2. Atalco added a run in the fifth inning to complete the scoring.

Grant Simmons had two hits and three RBI while David Cantrelle had two hits and an RBI for Peck’s Seafood. Anthony Tamborella and Jordan Fugate each added a hit and an RBI while Andrew Powell had two hits and scored a run.

Ethan Freeman picked up the win in relief, going three innings, allowing two runs on four hits after Jack Buell started and allowed a run on two hits in two innings pitched. Simmons pitched two scoreless innings to complete the game for Peck’s Seafood.

Mason Montz took the loss for Atalco (4-8-1), allowing all 10 runs, only four earned, on 10 hits. Brady Roques pitched the final three innings.

Brock Louque had a hit and two RBI, Kai Brown had two hits and Marshall Louque added a triple for Atalco.
