Joe Brady’s meteoric rise as a young coach has hit a stumbling block.

The Carolina Panthers have parted ways with their second-year offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

“I met with Joe this morning and informed him that I have decided to make a change,” said Panthers head coach Matt Rhule in a release Sunday. “I’m very grateful to him for his time and effort in helping us get established over this past year and a half.”

The 32-year old Brady, a former Saints staffer, helped transform LSU’s offense in his only season with the Tigers in 2019, resulting in a 15-0 record and national title. Brady served as passing game coordinator that season.

Rhule, the former Temple and Baylor head coach, made Brady the youngest offensive coordinator in the NFL less than two years ago.

Carolina (5-7) has lost three of their past four games.
