Orleans court strikes down Fair Grounds’ restraining order

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court dissolved Fair Grounds’ temporary restraining order against the Louisiana State Racing Commission Friday, once again putting in place the LSRC’s emergency order for Fair Grounds to take in horses from Evangeline Downs in the wake of Hurricane Laura.

Fair Grounds had received the TRO last Friday afternoon, barely 24 hours after the commission voted 9-1 to issue the emergency order.
