Nussmeier to join Cowboys as assistant, not LSU as analyst

Doug Nussmeier, a former offensive coordinator at a host of big-name schools such as Florida, Alabama and Michigan, will not join LSU’s support staff after all.

Nussmeier landed a full-time job as tight ends coach with the Dallas Cowboys, according to multiple reports Wednesday. Nussmeier, 47, planned to join the Tigers support staff as an offensive analyst, if he did not land a full-time job.
