Non-conference schedule for Ragin’ Cajuns balanced with attractive home and away contests

Home dates with Louisiana Tech, Samford; visits to Texas, SMU, Drake highlight schedule

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Men’s Basketball team released its 2022-23 non-conference schedule on Wednesday, featuring home dates against Louisiana Tech and Samford, a first-round matchup against Harvard in the Asheville Championship and road games against Texas, SMU and Drake.

Louisiana, which reached the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, will play five of its 14 scheduled home games against non-conference opponents beginning with the season-opener on Nov. 7 against Centenary College.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will compete in the Asheville Championship in Asheville, N.C., on Nov. 11-13 beginning with a first-round matchup against Ivy League member Harvard. Louisiana will conclude the tournament with a contest against either Elon or East Tennessee State.

Louisiana returns home to the Cajundome for its annual matchup against in-state rival Louisiana Tech on Nov. 17. The Ragin’ Cajuns have won five of the nine contests since the hardwood rivalry was renewed in 2013, including three of four on their home floor.

A visit to the Metroplex on Nov. 22 at SMU opens a two-game roadtrip for the Ragin’ Cajuns which will include their first-ever trip to face Missouri Valley Conference member Drake on Nov. 26.

Louisiana will host defending NAIA National Champion Loyola of New Orleans on Nov. 29 before heading to the Crescent City to face New Orleans in a Dec. 3 afternoon game at Lakefront Arena.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will wrap up their non-conference home slate with games in the Cajundome against Southern Conference member Samford on Dec. 10 and Louisiana Christian University (formerly Louisiana College) on Dec. 12.

Louisiana closes out its non-conference schedule with a game at I-10 rival McNeese (Dec. 15) before facing Texas in the Longhorn’s new Moody Center.

Louisiana Men’s Basketball 2022-23 season tickets are on sale now, as announced by the Louisiana Athletic Department.

Fans can purchase season tickets online or by calling the Louisiana Athletics Ticket Office at (337) 265-2104. Prices begin as low as $100.

Season-ticket holders can download their tickets through mobile ticketing from Ticketmaster. Fans can download the #GeauxCajuns app to their smartphone to begin the process.

Those who are unable to download tickets or wish to have their tickets printed can visit the Louisiana Athletics Ticket Office at the Cajundome.
