NOMMA boys pitch shutout to open soccer season

Area Prep Soccer Report for Tuesday, Nov. 15

There were several matches scheduled to open the 2022-23 high school soccer season Monday, though only a few were actually played due to rain.

In boys action, New Orleans Military & Maritime blanked Thomas Jefferson 4-0 in a game that was stopped in the second half due to lightning.

Junior Benjamin Coker scored a pair of goals while junior Raul Zajur and sophomore Jansen Zayas each added a goal for the Bulldogs. Junior William Patrick had three assists.

Sophomore Denzel Castro posted the clean sheet in goal.

Both teams are back in action today. NOMMA hosts Sophie B. Wright at 5:30 p.m. while Thomas Jefferson entertains Helen Cox at 6 p.m.
