NOLA Gold Rugby returns to action after a bye week Saturday night against the Houston Sabercats. The match begins at 7 p.m. from Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas, with live coverage on ESPN+ and Cox Sports Television.

NOLA, despite playing just five matches, is in first place in Major League Rugby with 21 points, one point ahead of Seattle and Glendale – each of whom have played six times this season.

The Gold was off last week after defeating the Utah Warriors 21-19 on March 2 – their first road match of the season after opening the year with four straight at home.

NOLA wing Nick Feakes was named MLR’s player of the week after scoring three tries in the win at Utah. Feakes, Tristan Blewett and Taylor Howden share the team lead with three tries apiece this season, while Howden also leads the squad with four try assists.

The Gold’s JP Eloff ranks fifth in MLR with 48 points, and also ranks among the league’s top five in conversions and penalty goals. He had a pair of penalty goals to account for NOLA’s other six points at Utah.

After Saturday’s match, NOLA returns home for the first time in a month for a March 23 match against Austin Elite Rugby.
