TORONTO – Ignacio Dotti’s try in the waning seconds gave NOLA Gold Rugby a come-from-behind 35-31 victory over the Toronto Arrows Sunday.

With the victory, the Gold remained in first place in the Major League Rugby standings table with 38 points, five more than second-place Glendale Raptors. Rugby United New York and the Seattle Seawolves are tied for third with 32 points.

NOLA led 28-19 at halftime before the Arrows – playing their first home game in franchise history – got tries from Andrew Ferguson and Morgan Mitchell in the first 12 minutes after halftime to take a 31-28 advantage.

It remained that way until the Gold slowly worked down the field in the closing minutes before Dotti reached across in the 80th minute for the go-ahead score.

Tim Maupin, JP Eloff, Tristan Blewett and Eric Howard had first-half tries for the Gold. Blewett leads MLR with seven tries on the season.

The Gold return home Saturday at 2 p.m. to take on the Utah Warriors.
