RUSTON, La. – No. 9 Louisiana Tech women’s bowling head coach Matt Nantais announced Friday the 2020-21 schedule, which includes the first-ever LA Tech Invite at the Lambright Sports and Wellness Center in Ruston.

“I am very excited to host an event at our own facility,” Nantais said. “We have some of the top teams in the nation coming out to participate, so it will be an exciting weekend. Our event will be used as an example to others for how to host during this COVID pandemic.”

The Lady Techsters will open the 2020-21 season with the LA Tech Invite from Nov. 6-8. LA Tech’s only other November tournament will be at the Sam Houston State-hosted Track Kat Klash from Nov. 20-22. Last season, Louisiana Tech went 7-6 in the tournament, including a pair of wins over ranked teams, to finish 10th in a competitive field.

LA Tech’s lone January tournament will be the Prairie View A&M Invitational from Jan. 29-31.

The Lady Techsters will then head to Dallas, Texas, to host the Bulldog Classic from Feb. 12-14, before traveling to the Arkansas-State hosted Mid-Winter Invitational on Feb. 19-21. At the Mid-Winter Invitational last season, then-freshman Allie Leiendecker was named the Tournament MVP after leading Louisiana Tech to a seventh place team finish.

LA Tech will open the month of March at the Vanderbilt-hosted Columbia 300 Music City Classic from March 5-7. Last season, Louisiana Tech had a fourth place finish at the tournament where the team recorded a program-record three straight games with 1,000 or more pins. The Southland Conference Championship will then be from March 19-21 in Houston, Texas.

The NCAA play-in will occur on April 2-4, with the NCAA Championships on April 9-10. The 2020-21 season will wrap up with the USBC Sectionals from April 16-18 and the USBC Nationals from May 2-8.
