Nicholls WR Jeanpiere named Southland offensive player of the week

FRISCO, Texas  – Nicholls State University wide receiver Damion Jeanpiere Jr. has been named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning.

A product of Archbishop Rummel and native of Kenner, La., Jeanpiere set a new career high in receiving yards with 174 yards on five receptions Saturday at Texas A&M. His 54-yard catch in the fourth quarter helped set up the Colonels’ game-tying touchdown against the Aggies.

After two games played, Jeanpiere is leading the Southland Conference with 159.5 yards receiving per game, averaging an astounding 39.9 yards per catch. He started the season with three receptions for 145 yards and two touchdowns in the win over McNeese.
