Nicholls guard Roddy Peters earns second Southland weekly award of season
The senior guard from Washington, D.C. drops 27 points to lead Nicholls back to first place
FRISCO, Texas – For the second time this season, Nicholls’ Roddy Peters is the Southland Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Southland Conference Players of the Week are presented by UniversalCoin.com.
Peters led the Colonels (14-9, 8-2 SLC) to an 81-64 victory over then-first place New Orleans on Saturday reclaim the top spot in the Southland standings. Nicholls takes on Abilene Christian on the road Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT before hosting Houston Baptist on Saturday at 3 p.m.
He last won the award Jan. 15.

Peters shot 53 percent from the floor en route to a 27-point performance in Nicholls’ lone game of the week. The native of Washington, D.C. added a game-high six assists to go along with three steals during his eighth straight double-figure scoring performance. The senior guard has now scored 20-plus points in seven of his last eight contests.
