New Orleans- A Facebook event organizing a parade in honor of Drew Brees has garnered over 4,000 RSVPs eager to honor the career and contributions of the Saints legend, both on and off the field. The parade, currently in early formation, is scheduled to take place on Drew’s 43rd birthday, January 15, 2022. The parade is being organized by Uptown resident, Erick Sanchez.

“The pandemic took away so much opportunity in our city, including the capability to offer a proper sendoff to Drew Brees who has given so much to our communities,” said Sanchez, a 35-year old public relations consultant. “I can’t think of a more fitting way to honor Drew and all that he’s given to New Orleans with a grand parade. I look forward to working with the city and local stakeholders over the next several months to ensure this event is a major success.”

Sanchez, originally from Washington, D.C., has organized several successful events in the past, and was previously honored as one of D.C.’s most viral online activists. He moved to New Orleans with his wife Caroline, a New Orleans native, in 2017.
