STILLWATER, Okla. – The New Orleans Privateers (2-2) trailed by only three with just over 10 minutes to go before Oklahoma State (2-3) pulled away to a 96-68 decision Monday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena. New Orleans is now 3-10 all-time against Oklahoma State.

The Privateers clawed their way out of double-figure deficits more than once, including an 11-point hole to get within a possession at the 10:15 mark. However, after dropping two close contests, the Cowboys were determined to secure their second victory of the season as they shot 65.6% from the field in the second half. Oklahoma State also had balanced scoring with five players in double figures.

Johnson led the Privateers with 23 points, scoring all but seven of them in the first half. Tyson Jackson joined him in double figures with 15 points and three rebounds on 6-of-8 from the field. Johnson was 6-of-17 overall and 3-of-9 from deep.

NEXT UP: The Privateers hit the road Thanksgiving Day heading to Conway, Ark for the Central Arkansas Classic. They’ll take on North Dakota on Saturday at the Ferris Center and the host, former Southland foe in Central Arkansas Sunday.
