New Orleans Boosters improve to 3-0, advance in AAABA Tournament
JOHNSTOWN, PA – The New Orleans Boosters improved to 3-0 Wednesday following the third round of play in the 73rd annual All-American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) Tournament.
New Orleans hit the board in the fourth inning following a two-run single by Noah Fontenot and a two-run double by Justin Nussbaum. New York scored two in the fifth, marking the first two runs scored against the Boosters in 18.1 innings of Tournament play. The Boosters added two more runs on a bases-loaded hit batter and walk in the fifth and a run in the eighth on a New York error.
Starting pitcher Cole Martin went six innings, striking out four and allowing four hits. Mason Mayfield pitched two innings and Kyle Flettrich closed the game in relief.
With the win, New Orleans (3-0) advances as the winner of its four-team pool. After Wednesday, The Tournament’s remaining eight teams will enter single elimination.
