NBA fines Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry $15,000 for public criticism of officiating

New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry was fined $15,000 for public criticism of officiating following Saturday’s 107-101 loss to the Houston Rockets, the NBA announced Sunday afternoon.

The Pelicans coach unleashed a furious rant after Saturday’s loss, where he was openly critical of a fourth-quarter foul on guard Jrue Holiday while Houston’s James Harden was shooting a 3-pointer.
