Another Berry is headed to the Southeastern Conference.

Following in the footsteps of her older sister, Mount Carmel’s Jordan Berry will play basketball at Ole Miss, making it official at an on-campus ceremony at MCA Tuesday.

Berry’s sister Taylor completed her eligibility this spring at the University of Alabama.

Jordan Berry was the leading scorer for the Cubs, who reached the Division I final this season and won a state title her freshman year. She scored all 14 of her points in the fourth quarter as Mount Carmel rallied past Dominican in the 2019 semifinals. A month earlier, she beat Dominican with a last-second shot on Senior Day at Mount Carmel.

She will be the third member of her family to play college basketball. Jordan’s mother, Stacey, was an All-American at Tulane who became the first player in school history – male of female – to score 2,000 career points.

Berry is also one of the valedictorians of Mount Carmel’s Class of 2019.
