TOUGALOO, Miss. — Shaelynn Moore scored 14 of her 18 points in the first half, and Mackenzie Davis scored a season-high 11 Saturday to lead Xavier University of Louisiana to a 73-61 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference women’s basketball victory against Tougaloo.

Moore scored in doubles figures for the 11th time this season and the fifth time in the last six games. She made three 3-pointers to reach 50 for the season — the most by a Gold Nugget since NAIA All-American Whitney Gathright made 58 in 34 games during the 2015-16 season.

Davis scored all her points in the second half and reached double figures for the first time since Nov. 2.

The Gold Nuggets (12-11, 3-5) won for just the third time in 10 games but stretched their road win streak to two.

Karry Callahan had 25 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Lady Bulldogs (5-19, 2-7). The 25 points were a season best and matched her Tougaloo high, and the 5-foot-8 senior grabbed 10 offensive rebounds and made 13-of-16 free throws.

XULA will play Dillard in the Crosstown Classic at 3 p.m. Saturday at XULA’s Convocation Center.
