Mónica Lebrón leaves Tulane for Tennessee

Mónica Lebrón, a member of Tulane’s senior athletic staff under Troy Dannen for the last five years, is leaving the program to join the University of Tennessee’s athletic staff.

Lebrón, who served as Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer at Tulane, will be the Vols’ Deputy AD for Championship Resources under new athletic director Danny White.

This will be Lebrón’s fourth stop at a Southeastern Conference school. She previously worked at Florida, Ole Miss and Georgia.

She will join a staff with numerous Tulane and New Orleans ties. White is a Jesuit graduate and the son of former Tulane athletic director Kevin White, who will retire later this year from his current position as AD at Duke. New assistant AD for executive operations Amy Sterk is the daughter of former Tulane associate AD and current Missouri athletic director Jim Sterk.

Lebrón is a 2001 graduate of Yale and completed her doctorate in interdisciplinary studies at Tulane two years ago.
