McBean, Rowe headline GCAC Women’s Track Athletes of the Week
NEW ORLEANS, La. – XULA’s Jada McBean and DU’s Rachel Rowe are this week’s recipients of Women’s Track & Field Athlete honors.
McBean followed in teammate Santerrius Barlow’s footsteps but doing him one better, winning the gold in the 100m (11.95) and 200m (24.96) as well as adding a third first place finish as part of the 4×400 relay team (48.56) at the William Carey Outdoor Challenge. The 2021 NAIA Indoor All-American was the anchor of the relay squad and was a key catalyst in the Gold Nuggets winning the meet as a whole.
Rowe recorded a third place finish in the triple jump at 11.39m and claimed seventh for the long jump with a leap of 5.10m at the William Carey Outdoor Challenge. Her triple jump distance is also the third-best mark in the NAIA.
