McAllister, Breaux, Conway, Dooley, Stewart to speak Tuesday at GNOSF QB Club Luncheon

Deuce McAllister

New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame inductee Deuce McAllister, LSU Gymnastics coach D-D Breaux, Fair Grounds Race Course track announcer John Dooley and Newman head coach Nelson Stewart will speak at the weekly Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club at Rock’n’Bowl, 3016 South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Drafted in the first round by the New Orleans Saints out of Ole Miss in 2001, McAllister played seven seasons for the Saints from 2001-08. The all-time leading rusher in New Orleans Saints history with 6,096 yards, McAllister ranks second in Saints history with 55 touchdowns and he is sixth in scoring with 330 points. McAllister was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2012. He is in his third season serving as the color analyst on the New Orleans Saints radio network.

In her 41st year heading the outstanding LSU Gymnastics program, Breaux guided the Tigers to national runner-up finishes in 2016 and 2017. Breaux has earned National Coach of the Year honors twice and SEC Coach of the Year honors seven times. Breaux had led LSU to 15 NCAA championship appearances in the last 16 years, six Super Six appearances since 2008 and 12 individual national titles since 2002.

In his 3rd season as wide receivers coach at Tulane, Conway has worked with Willie Fritz since 1984, when he was at Sam Houston State and has worked with Fritz at Blinn Junior College, Central Missouri and now at Tulane. He also worked as an assistant at Texas State, Missouri Western State, New Mexico and at Northwest Missouri State, his alma mater where he played.

A native of Staten Island, NY, Dooley has worked as a track announcer in horse racing since 1991. He is in his 15th year as the track announcer at Fair Grounds Race Course, which opened its 146th season this past week.

In his 13th season at his alma mater, Stewart has his Greenies in the Division III semifinals for the second consecutive year, traveling to top-seeded Notre Dame at Crowley this Friday night.

Speakers from the Saints, LSU, Tulane and prep football will address the audience weekly each Tuesday, along with special guest speakers from the sports world locally and nationally.

A local high school player of the week is chosen throughout the season with a metro prep player of the year announced at the end of the season, sponsored by the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Lunch is served.

In addition, Chevron sponsors student-athletes of the week, who receive plaques and recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom.

Annual standard membership is $50. Luncheons are $20 per person for members and $25 per person for non-members for the 16 week schedule (Aug. 28-Dec. 11). All are welcome to attend.
