DALLAS – Major League Rugby (MLR) and FOX Sports today announced their national television schedule for the fifth season of competition. The premier North American rugby league will nationally broadcast select matches beginning the weekend of February 5 on FS1 and FS2. FOX Sports will also carry the MLR Championship Final, which is set to be held the weekend of June 25.

Opening weekend of the 18-week regular season will feature NOLA Gold hosting the New England Free Jacks on Saturday, February 5 at 9:00 PM ET on FS2. The following weekend features the Austin Gilgronis hosting Old Glory DC on Saturday, February 12 at 9:00 PM ET on FS1. The Austin Gilgronis were also recently featured in a six-part docuseries titled “Inside the Scrum” that aired on FS2.

“Having FOX Sports involved as the national television broadcaster for Major League Rugby this season is an amazing opportunity for the league,” said MLR Commissioner George Killebrew. “FOX Sports’ reach and audience will not only bring our fans the rugby coverage they expect but also introduce our sport to entirely new rugby fans.”

“We are excited to showcase another season of Major League Rugby across our cable networks, highlighting the fast-paced action of professional American rugby at the highest level,” said Bill Wanger, Executive Vice President, Head of Programming and Scheduling, FOX Sports.
