Madison Prep cornerback Joel Williams to announce commitment Sunday

Madison Prep’s Joel Williams, a 6-foot-1, 180 pounder, is listed as the 13th best athlete in the 2020 class. His best position will be cornerback in college.

Williams is making a stop in Florida this weekend, but he is set to make his commitment Sunday evening at 6 Central time. The finalists are LSU, Tennessee and Florida, with Texas A&M just on the outside. He has visited Tennessee three times within the past year, the latest trip last month with his mom.

New Orleans native and former St. Augustine head coach David Johnson, running backs coach for the Vols, has been recruiting Williams hard. The Tennessee staff as a whole has intensified their efforts lately.

Williams and teammate Major Burns at Madison Prep form one of the best prep cornerback duos in the South. Williams is viewed as a good tackler who plays well in space.
