Lutcher product Gregory Clayton, Jr. joins LSU football program

Former Lutcher standout Gregory Clayton, Jr. is joining the LSU football program for the 2022 campaign.

The 5-10, 190-pound wide receiver collected 184 catches for 2,497 yards and 32 touchdowns during his prep career. He initially played collegiately at Trinity Valley before making his way to UTSA where he played the past twi seasons. Clayton played sparingly on offense but was a key contributor to special teams for the Roadrunners.

As a three-star prospect in the 2018 class, he considered offers from Purdue and Iowa State. Clayton also excelled in basketball and baseball at Lutcher.

The walk-on will have two seasons remaining of eligibility for the Tigers.

Clayton is the cousin of former Lutcher and LSU star receiver Jarvis Landry, now with the New Orleans Saints.
