Lusher, Newman, St. Martin’s win cross country district titles

Lusher Charter, Newman and St. Martin’s Episcopal shined Tuesday at City Park in cross country district championship meets.

The Lions, Greenies and Saints swept the girls and boys district titles in their respective districts.

Lusher took the girls title with Ariana Moody leading the way, finishing second while Fiona Collins of Ben Franklin came in first in the individual competition.

The Lions also won the boys title as Samuel Singer led the way, finished second. Alastair Deng of Ben Franklin finished first in the individual competition.

In 11-2A, Newman won the girls championship as Ava Hartman led the way, coming in first while the Newman boys were victorious behind the lead of William Moore, who won the individual competition.

St. Martin’s Episcopal won the girls competition in 9-1A with Meera Hijazi of the Saints taking first in the girls race while Randolph Dunkin of St. Martin’s led a balanced team effort to pace the Saints to boys title as he finished third. Jonathan Zink of Country Day placed first.
