LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte will not play in the game against New Mexico on Saturday due to an excused absence.

Head coach Brian Kelly said Thursday that Boutte will be with the Westgate High product’s girlfriend, who is expecting their first child.

“He is with her and we expect some great news here in a few hours. We wish him and the new mom all the best,” said Kelly.

LSU (2-1) is a 31.5-point favorite for the matchup with New Mexico (2-1). Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
