TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Forced to a game three after falling in the second game of the NCAA Tallahassee Super Regional, the No. 11 LSU softball team’s season ended at the hands of No. 6 Florida State, 3-1, Saturday evening at JoAnne Graff Field.

The Tigers finished their 2018 campaign with a record of 45-17. The careers of seniors Allie Walljasper, Carley Hoover, Emily Griggs and Sydney Loupe came to an end in Tallahassee. The group helped lead LSU to an outstanding four-year run with three appearances in the Women’s College World Series during that span.

Walljasper was charged the loss after allowing three runs on two hits in the contest.

Florida State got on the board in the third with three runs and never looked back. After Walljasper allowed a walk to open the inning, Jessie Warren hit a two-run home run. The Seminoles then extended their lead on a sacrifice fly by Anna Shelnutt.

LSU was able to respond in the fifth inning with its lone run. Shemiah Sanchez opened the inning with a single and a one-out double by Shelby Sunseri put runners in scoring position. A ground out from Amber Serrett to the pitcher plated Sanchez to make it a 3-1 game.
