A quarterback who started half of LSU’s games last season is looking for a new home.

Multiple Baton Rouge and New Orleans television outlets confirmed Wednesday that TJ Finley has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The Ponchatoula High School product started five games as a true freshman for the Tigers in 2020, posting a 2-3 record with wins over South Carolina and Arkansas. The 6-foot-6, 242-pounder threw for 941 yards, with five touchdown passes and five interceptions.

Finley appeared to fall behind redshirt junior Myles Brennan and fellow sophomore Max Johnson this spring in the QB competition in Baton Rouge.

True freshman Garrett Nussmeier, an early enrollee, is the other scholarship quarterback currently on the LSU roster.
