Former LSU and John Curtis Christian pitcher Will Ripoll is headed to San Jacinto College North in Houston, he announced on Twitter Wednesday.

Ripoll, an All-State selection who helped the Patriots win back-to-back Division I state titles in 2017-18, pitched in 10 games for the Tigers this spring with no record and a 6.48 ERA. He struck out 18 in 16 2/3 innings of work.

As a senior at Curtis, he went 10-0 and tossed a complete game in the Patriots’ 2-1 victory over St. Paul’s for the Division I title.

San Jacinto is one of the nation’s most storied JUCO programs, with 27 trips to the Junior College World Series, 16 championship game appearances and five national championships.

By going the JUCO route, Ripoll can play next season without sitting out and can sign with another school for the 2021 season.
