The LSU 2019 recruiting class continues to grow as a third commitment of the week has given the Purple and Gold 15 verbals.

Copiah-Lincoln JUCO tight end T.K. McClendon (6’4-247) gave his word to the Tigers’ staff following a stellar performance at the LSU camp on Friday.

The 6-foot-4, 247 pound McClendon possesses a solid set of hands but he is also physical at the point of attack having been a defensive end in high school in Soperton, Georgia. McClendon has demonstrated the skills to be a dominating blocker and lines up at H-Back when called upon.

A 2017 signee, edge defender Travez Moore, also played at Copiah-Lincoln. McClendon will have 2 years of eligibility once he arrives on campus.

The Tigers added a commitment from 4 star quarterback Peter Parrish as well on Friday. The dual threat signal caller with 4.5 speed is more dangerous as a runner and a work-in-progress as a passer. He can throw the deep ball but needs fine tuning on throwing a receiver open and more in stride.

As of now, Parrish is likely the only QB that the LSU staff will go after for the ’19 class.

Looking ahead, inside linebacker Donte’ Starks (6-1, 225) from John Ehret will make his announcement e on July 8.

The top player at his position in Louisiana has visited LSU and Florida , and he plans a stopover at Alabama. LSU currently is a couple of steps ahead of Auburn in the sweepstakes for Starks. Mickey Joseph and Dave Aranda are handling responsibilities in recruiting. Starks is an Under Armour All American.

A classic downhill and violent tackler, LSU hopes he follows int he footsteps of former Ehret linebacker Michael Divinity to join the Tigers.

A 2020 prospect, Alexandria Senior High cornerback Ja’Darius “Bud” Clark, has been offered by the Tigers. Corey Raymond and Bill Busch are the LSU assistats recruiting the 6-foot-2, 175 pound prospect who has also been offered by Tulane and UL Lafayette.

Clark is thought to be among the best cover corners in the ’20 class.
