LSU has shifted offensive linemen around frequently since spring drills and during the season so far. An injury may cause more change for the first-string group.

Sophomore Garrett Dellinger suffered a broken hand this past Saturday against New Mexico and had surgery on Tuesday, Tigers head coach Brian Kelly confirmed Wednesday.

“It appears as though it’s going to be tight for him to make the game,” Kelly said in his SEC conference call session. “At first thought, we thought we could get him ready, but there’s a plate and screw in there. As we’re talking today, I’d say he’s doubtful.”

The Clarkson, Mich. native had a screw and plate surgically inserted into his hand.

Kelly said Miles Frazier at left guard to replace Dellinger is a possibility. Frazier has recently been a starter at right guard. Dellinger started each of the first four games, beginning at center for the season opener and then shifting to left guard when Charles Turner moved into the first-term center spot.

Anthony Bradford and Tre’Mond Shorts are the likelt potential replacements at guard.

LSU travels this week to Auburn for a 6 p.m. Saturday kickoff.
