Hines, a 6-foot-3, 350-pound senior who had one more year of eligibility, has started 15 games over the last two seasons.
As a result, the Tigers are losing four starters off of their 2021 offensive line. Another guard, Ed Ingram, declared for the draft while center Liam Shanahan and right tackle Austin Deculus have no more eligibility. Left tackle Cameron Wire, a junior, is the only returner on the first unit.
Expect LSU under new head coach Brian Kelly to seek more help in the trenches via the transfer portal. Miles Frazier, FIU’s freshman All-American offensive tackle, recently committed to the Tigers.
