LSU Football: Georgia 2022 prep CB Rhym commits, WR Kirklin to return for 2021 season
The LSU Tigers are keeping the pedal to the metal as their 2022 recruiting efforts kick into high gear.
The newest commitment to the Tigers comes from JaDarian Rhym, a four-star cornerback out of Valdosta, Ga. who becomes the eighth pledge for LSU for the 2022 class.
The 6-foot-2, 178 pounder was recruited by Tigers assistant coach Corey Raymond. Rhym cited LSU’s DBU history and how he has modeled his game after Tigers legend Tyrann Mathieu as keys to his decision.
Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Florida State, Arkansas, Georgia, Georgia Tech , Cincinnati and Tennessee have all beenin hot pursuit of the ’22 prospect.
Rhym is smooth in transition, possessing good hips speed to stay stride for stride with receivers. He needs some fine tuning in press coverage but Rhym will challenge the run as a physical tackler who unloads on ball carriers.
The Tigers also received some good news from senior wideout Jontre Kirklin, who announced that he will return for the 2021 season. The Lutcher, La. native had 13 grabs for 184 yards with three touchdowns, but his contributions far exceed his statistics. A consummate team player, Kirklin is a locker room leader and someone who is ready to help the team by any means.
