LSU has already thrown out the welcome mat to at least three players in the transfer portal – Western Michigan DT Braden Fiske, Oregon edge rusher Bradyn Swinson and Shorter University TE Kyle Morlock.

Fiske is a 6-foot-4, 300-pounder. LSU’s Jamar Cain is on the case for the Tigers. Notre Dame, Miss. State, Florida, Rutgers, Oklahoma, Penn State and West Virginia are also among his suitors.

With 45 games played for the Broncos, Fiske enters his sixth year of college football in 2023. He totaled 59 stops, 12 TFL and 6.0 sacks last season. For his career at Western Michigan, the native of Michigan City, Indiana tallied 148 tackles, 27.5 TFL and 13.5 sacks.

Viewed as a natural nose tackle who has has played in two-gap alignment, Fiske can also play 3 tech or 5 tech. He has a very strong lower body, is instinctive in locating ball and takes good angles to ballcarriers. Fiske can pressure the passer also. Fiske is a hot motor/no-quit type who can enhance any defensive line rotation.

Notre Dame has already gotten a visit from him and his parents live just a half hour away from South Bend.

Swinson (6-4, 245) is an edge rusher who has lined up at outside linebacker at times. He was a 3 star prospect in 2020.

The Douglasville, Ga. product recorded 3.0 sacks and four TFL in 2021 but with the arrival of a new staff at Oregon this season, he only participated in 144 snaps, recording 8 tackles and 1.5 TFL.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Swinson possesses the physical skills but still appears raw with pass rushing ability. He uses his hands very well but needs to improve his fundamentals and overall strength. Swinson sometimes relies too much on natural skills and gets stone walled. Quickness off of ball and a strong tomahawk move to disengage with blockers are strengths of his game.

Morlock is a rangy 6-7, 245-pounder from the Division II ranks. LSU only has one current tight end commit for ’23, Marc Markway, while Kole Taylor entered transfer portal today.

The product of Blairsville, Ga. is ranked among the top three tight end prospects in the transfer portal currently. He is scheduled to visit Florida State this weekend (Dec. 9).

Morlock grabbed 30 passes for 446 yards and six touchdowns while earning All-America honors at Shorter. He is getting lots of offers including Missouri, Tennessee, Tulane, Pittsburgh, NC State, Oklahoma, Purdue, Auburn, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Illinois.
