LSU filled the spots of two of the four analysts who recently accepted employment elsewhere.

Russ Callaway has been added as a senior offensive analyst, while Donald D’Alesio is filling one of the defensive analyst spots.

Callaway served as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at Samford the past four years. Previously he was the head coach at UAB. His dad, Neil Callaway, is currently USC’s offensive line coach.

Russ Callaway tutored former Samford star Devin “Duck” Hodges, the current Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback who was presented the 2018 FCS Walter Payton Award (equivalent honor to the FBS’s Heisman). Hodges passed for 14,584 career college yards, breaking the previous record set by Steve McNair while at Alcorn State.

A very good offensive mind, Callaway also served as a defensive analyst at Alabama during their national championship seasons in 2011 and 2012.

The 28-year old D’Alesio has been the Youngstown State defensive coordinator for the last 3 seasons. He played for the Penguins as a defensive back from 2010-2014.
