LSU has lost many key players from their secondary in recent weeks. Two replacements announced Tuesday they’re coming to Baton Rouge.

Former Arkansas and McDonogh 35 standout Joe Foucha announced on Twitter that he will transfer to LSU.

Foucha will be joined by redshirt sophomore Mehki Garner who joins the Tigers from UL Lafayette.

A safety and Razorbacks team captain, Foucha has 230 tackles, 11.5 for loss, 2.5 sacks, four interceptions, 12 pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles in 40 games over the past four seasons.

A three-star prospect in 2018, the 5-foot-11, 205 pounder has been a highly-regarded SEC starter since the start of the 2019 season.

Garner, a third team All-Sun Belt performer for the league champion Ragin’ Cajuns, managed 31 tackles, 8 pass breakups and 2.5 tackles for loss this past season. At 6-2 and 217 pounds, he is a big, rangy prospect who will look to boost his draft profile in the SEC.

The Mesquite, Tex. native joins the only cornerbacks on the LSU roster at this time, Raydarious Jones and Damarius McGhee. Earlier Tuesday, the latest of four former Tigers starting cornerback – Dwight McGlothern – entered the portal.
