Louisiana Tech signs Hofstra transfer David Green
RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team landed another player for the 2021-22 season in Hofstra transfer David Green, signing the lefty forward to a financial aid agreement.
Green, a versatile player at 6-foot-7-inch, 215-pounds from Apopka, Florida, spent this past season as a freshman for the Pride.
“We are excited to welcome David Green to the Louisiana Tech Family,” said head coach Eric Konkol. “David is a left-handed forward with size and skill. He has a strong work ethic and is a versatile player. He can really stretch the defense from the perimeter and has the ability to score around the basket. He has a soft touch and we believe he can also defend multiple positions in our system.
“David will bring experience from strong basketball programs at the high school and collegiate level. We look forward to him joining us in Ruston soon.”
Green played in 18 games at Hofstra while making eight starts, averaging 3.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. During conference play, he shot 40 percent from the field and 35 percent from three.
“I chose LA Tech because I feel like this is a place I can grow on and off the court,” said Green. “I think the coaches here are not only great coaches, but great people and the love that they have shown me is a big part of why I chose to be a Bulldog.”
His best game came in the 76-71 upset win over No. 23 Richmond when he tallied eight points and four boards.
Green joins a stellar incoming class that includes transfer LaDamien Bradford from Texas A&M and Keaston Willis from Incarnate Word as well as high school signees Will Allen, Kaleb Stewart and Terran Williams.
