Louisiana Tech completes 2022 volleyball roster with Grambling transfer, Mexican international additions
RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech Head Coach Amber McCray announced two signees who will join the Lady Techsters in the 2022 season.
The first addition to the 2022 roster is setter Kalee Cadwell who transfers to Tech after spending three seasons at Grambling State. Cadwell is a Houston, Texas native and graduated from Klein High School in 2019. She finished her 2019 high school with the most assists on her team with a total of 864 and finished with 386 digs as she earned first team All-District honors her senior year.
Cadwell brings experience to the Lady Techster roster after seeing a heavy dose of playing time in her 2021 season at Grambling State. She recorded 502 assists last season and set a season-high 35 assists in a match versus Texas Southern.
The second addition to the Lady Techster roster is Carla Esquer who joins the team after spending time on the U18 Mexico National Team. Esquer is an outside hitter from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico and graduated from Instituto Anglomexicano this year.
Esquero was coached by Roberto Ung in high school and played with Buhitas Club and won the U18 World Championship with the Mexican National Team.
“We are beyond excited to welcome our last two additions to our talented 2022 class,” said coach McCray. “Kalee brings more experience to the setting position after playing a significant role at the division one level for the past three years, while Carla is an explosive attacker and all-around player with elite international experience.”
“Both of these student-athletes also have a genuine desire to compete that will mesh well with our entire 2022 roster.”
The Techsters open up the 2022 season at Clemson for three matches starting on August 26.
