RUSTON — Coming off of a 43-win season, an NCAA Regional appearance and the 2022 C-USA Tournament Championship title, Louisiana Tech head coach Lane Burroughs announced the Bulldogs 2023 schedule.

The 32-game home schedule at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park includes non-conference matchups against Air Force, Sacramento State and Southern Miss as well as in-state contests against ULM, Northwestern, UL-Lafayette and Nicholls State.

“Once again, we feel we’ve put together a tremendous and challenging schedule,” said Burroughs. “It is exciting to know we will play 32 games at The Love Shack in front of our outstanding fans. This could possibly be one of the most challenging midweek and non-conference schedules we have had since our staff has been at Tech. Take care of business and you put yourself in a great position for a postseason run.

“We will always try and play as good of a schedule as we can and not run from top-notch competition. We want to put our guys in a position to be well prepared, when C-USA play rolls around, as well as postseason. The league will look a little different, but it will still remain one of the best baseball-paying leagues in the country. The quality of players and coaches in our league continues to elevate every year.”

The Bulldogs have nine games against 2022 NCAA Tournament teams — Arkansas, Dallas Baptist, Air Force, UL-Lafayette, Southern Miss, and the College World Series champions Ole Miss.

LA Tech will host a three-game Conference USA series against Charlotte, Dallas Baptist, Florida Atlantic, UAB, and UTSA while also taking on WKU, Rice, Dallas Baptist, Florida Atlantic, and Middle Tennessee in three-game road sets.

The 2023 season opens with seven consecutive home contests, beginning with a four-game series against BYU (Feb. 17-20). The Bulldogs will then host Nicholls State (Feb. 24-26), followed by their first road trip to Oxford, Miss for two midweek games at Ole Miss.

The Bulldogs will remain at the Love Shack to open C-USA play (Mar. 17-19) against Charlotte. Tech will then head to Monroe to face off with ULM in mid-week play (Mar. 21) before heading to Bowling Green to continue conference play against Western Kentucky (Mar. 24-26) followed by a single-game mid-week with Sacramento State at the Love Shack. The Bulldogs will conclude the month of March and begin April with a three-game conference series against Dallas Baptist (Mar. 31- April 2)

Tech will continue April on the road with a mid-week contest against Northwestern in Natchitoches (April 4) before heading to Rice (April 7-9), and UL-Lafayette (April 11). The Bulldogs return to the Love Shack for a match-up with ULM (April 12). LA Tech will remain at home for a weekend conference series with FIU (April 14-16) and preseason-ranked No.15 Southern Miss (April 18).
