Lone Sailor, owned by Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson’s GMB Racing, will officially enter Saturday’s Preakness Stakes on Wednesday.

A field of eight, including Kentucky Derby winner Justify and runner-up Good Magic, is expected for the second leg of the Triple Crown at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

Lone Sailor finished eighth in the Kentucky Derby, which was run on a sloppy track. With no less than an 80 percent chance of rain between now and Saturday in Baltimore, it could be more of the same for the Preakness, which could be good for Lone Sailor’s chances. His one career win, an 11-length romp in a maiden race last September at Saratoga, came over a wet track.

The draw for the Preakness is at 4 p.m. CDT Wednesday. Post time on Saturday is at approximately 5:20 p.m. NBC will televise the race nationally.
