RUSTON – For a second consecutive week and the third time this season, Kenneth Lofton, Jr. was voted as the Conference USA Freshman of the Week in an announcement made by the league office on Monday.

The freshman forward nearly posted a double-double in helping LA Tech secure its first road victory of the season, defeating I-20 foe ULM by a final score of 68-57 which completed a two-game sweep of the Warhawks during non-conference play.

Down by eight with 14:43 remaining in the game, Lofton, Jr. and the Bulldogs limited ULM to just 13 total points the rest of the way, pulling out the 11-point victory. The 57 points was the lowest scoring output at home for the Warhawks this season.

Lofton, Jr. registered seven points and a career-tying 12 rebounds which also matches the most boards by a Bulldog in a single game this season. He also contributed two assists, two steals and one block in the matchup.

The Port Arthur, Texas native has taken home three of the five C-USA Freshman of the Week honors so far this season and has tied DaQuan Bracey (2016-17) for the most such honors in a single season by a Bulldog.

LA Tech will take its three-game winning streak into conference action that gets underway on Friday, Jan. 1 against Marshall on ESPN+. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.
