Local teams in action Thursday to start LHSAA state softball playoffs

Prep Softball Playoff Report for Thursday, April 11

The LHSAA softball playoffs open today with a host of games around the state.

Several area teams swing into action with a few hosting.

In 5A, No. 14 Ponchatoula (20-6) hosts No. 19 Natchitoches Central (13-13) at 4:30 p.m. while No. 22 Fontainebleau (13-7) travels to Central Louisiana to take on No. 11 Pineville (18-7) at 5 p.m.

In 4A, No. 32 Warren Easton (8-4) faces a tall task at No. 1 Leesville (19-2) while No. 15 Pearl River (15-8) entertains No. 18 Plaquemine (11-11) at 4 p.m.

In Division III, No. 7 Patrick Taylor (10-6) hosts No. 10 Country Day (10-7) at 4:30 p.m. at Westwego Playground. The Tigers downed the Cajuns 8-3 in Metairie on March 26.
