Donte’ Jackson and Parry Nickerson not only played their college football in Louisiana, but they played prep football in the Jefferson Parish public school system.

Jackson, from LSU by way of Riverdale, and Nickerson, from Tulane by way of West Jefferson, sizzled on the final day of the NFL Scouting Combine Monday in Indianapolis.

While many were still finishing their first cup of coffee, Jackson and Nickerson each ran the 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds, tying the best mark of the day.

Jackson, who is also a track standout, had hopes of eclipsing the combine record of 4.22 seconds set last year by former Washington wide receiver John Ross, now with the Cincinnati Bengals.

He came up a tenth of a second short, then ran a 4.37 on his second try.

For Nickerson, the 4.32 was the end of his day, as he pulled up following the run and did not participate in any other on-field activities.
