HAMMOND, La. – With the college season wrapped up for Southeastern Louisiana, several Lion baseball players will continue their development at various times during the next couple of months in NCAA-sanctioned summer leagues scattered throughout the nation.

Left-handed pitcher-outfielder Trey Shaffer and right-handed pitcher Justin Simanek will both play for the St. Cloud (Minn.) Rox in the Northwoods League. Several Lions have played in either the Northwoods League or for the Rox in the past, including current Southeastern pitcher Will Warren.

A right-hander, Warren will head to the prestigious Cape Cod League this summer and log innings for the Wareham (Mass.) Gatemen. The sophomore from Brandon, Mississippi, is the ninth player under head coach Matt Riser to play on the Cape.

Outfielder Nick Ray will also head to the East Coast, spending the summer with the High Point-Thomasville (N.C.) Hi-Toms of the Coastal Plain League.

Left-hander Nick Flesher, a native of Boise, Idaho, heads back to Big Sky Country and will play for the Dickinson, North Dakota-based Badlands Big Sticks of the Expedition League.

Right-hander Hunter Arnold and left-handed pitcher-outfielder Brant Husser, both freshmen from Central, Louisiana, will play for the Hopkinsville, Kentucky-based Hoptown Hoppers of the Ohio Valley League.

Pitchers Corbin Bozosi, Noah Hughes and Grant Upton will stay closer to campus, playing in the Texas Collegiate League. Bozosi and Upton will play for the expansion Baton Rouge Rougarou and Hughes will spend time with the Youngsville, Louisiana-based Acadiana Cane Cutters.

Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the baseball program are encouraged to join the Diamond Club. Lion baseball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.

All membership fees and donations to both the Diamond Club and S Club (baseball) are available for the exclusive use of the Southeastern baseball program. Membership information is available by contacting the Lion Athletics Association at or (985) 549-5091 or visiting
