St. Martin’s advances in volleyball playoffs; results, schedule

No. 10 seed St. Martin’s Episcopal rallied from a one-set deficit to oust No. 23 Highland Baptist 16-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-15 Tuesday in the opening round of the Division V state playoffs in Metairie.

Jeda Williams led the Saints with 15 kills and 25 digs while Emerson Arensman had 14 kills, 16 assists and 10 digs. Gabby Rubin had three kills and 16 digs and Sofia Divincenti finished with 11 digs. Alex Pevey added eight digs.

The Saints (13-13) advance to the regional round to face the winner of today’s match featuring No. 26 Ascension Christian at No. 7 Riverside Academy.
