Lawyer: NCAA to re-open LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton’s appeal of 2017 suspension
A lawyer for LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton said Friday that the NCAA has scheduled a hearing on the former Archbishop Rummel standout’s suspension.
“Today the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sport agreed to re-open the appeal of LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton based upon ‘new information,’ ” attorney Don Jackson tweeted Friday. “Fulton was suspended for two competitive seasons based upon allegedly ‘tampering’ with a testing sample.”
Fulton was given a two-year suspension by the NCAA in February 2017 for alleged use of another person’s urine for a drug test.
A top national recruit in the 2016 recruiting class, Fulton would be a prime contender to start for the Tigers at cornerback this season if his suspension is lifted.
